Change to Good News Friday

Happy Friday,

Here’s the situation. Over the past three years, I’ve written 152 Good News Friday emails. The purpose is to share my experience and insights in hopes they provide you with a clearer view and help you optimize your career, leadership role, or organization. Success is more a way of thinking than a checklist.

Writing about optimizing the existing engineering industry is important, but it's become less pressing than the Tsunami on the near horizon. A Tsunami that's likely to impact fundamentals, like business plans, growth projections, recruiting, stock prices, ownership transition plans, and the underlying 'human intelligence by the hour' business model, among other things. It might improve them, but it might not.

So I'm going to focus more of my attention on five big things: 1) digital engineering intelligence and the future role of engineers and engineering firms, 2) preserving and enhancing company value, 3) business optimization and growth, 4) alternative business and revenue models, and 5) ownership and leadership transitions. These don't lend themselves to a newsletter. Besides, given their possible implications, it's not for me to be the one to talk about them.

If you or your organization would like to have a one-on-one, send me a note. Or have your bot/agent do it. I'm currently chatting with two OpenClaw Multis and have the feeling we're going to be overrun by them in a few months.

Punchline: Expect Good News Friday to continue, just somewhat less frequently.

Have a great weekend,

Dave
